    varieties of human husbandry.  Other varieties include the higher education/training industry, the medico/industrial complex, electronic security/monitoring and, most recently, privatized elementary education.

    The signal indicator of human husbandry is that humans are exploited by their own kind to their detriment.  The actual characteristics of the exploited group are irrelevant.  However, in the case of the prison population, the incidence of violent crime, which only a small percentage commit, is actually down. But, that's largely a consequence of the instinct-driven perpetrators actually being locked away to commit their violence behind bars.
