    I haven't talked to or heard from anyone in the Winograd camp since the results came out, but I would bet large that their reaction will be:

    "This shows that if Bowen had not signed a letter supporting Israel, etc., she would have won."

    Alas, entirely apart from the merits of the underlying issue, it doesn't show that at all.  Her doing so would have added some votes and subtracted others; how much of each is anyone's guess.  What it actually shows is that Hahn baited a trap for Winograd to knock off Bowen and (if the results stand) it worked.  So Hahn's (cynical, in my view) gambit got rewarded.  That doesn't please me.

    Unplug the Koch machine! It's swallowing people's money!
