      since Kerry actually voted for it whereas Brown has only verbally flip flopped

        That killed Kerry. It was straightforward for Republicans to repeat in a form easily digestible for the public to take in. I don't see anything similar here from Brown.

        He was for it before he was against it.  And if we had a solid front-runner candidate, this gaffe could be capitalized on and become the main focus of the campaign.  But no one has the stature to secure this gaffe into place in the media.

          Kerry actually said that. This is why it hurt not the actual legislative process he was talking about. I really don't think this will stick. Perhaps it can be made to be an issue of sorts but it is far from any sort of gamechanger and I certainly wouldn't make it the focus of the campaign.
