  •  Oh, I have. (0+ / 0-)

    Judy Biggert - IL-13.
All through health insurance summer, she insisted that anyone wanting a townhall was just "a clown looking for a circus."  And she used that line endlessly.
She spent the summer going to gated elderly communities in places like Hinsdale (in the midst of a teardown binge where people would buy $250,000 homes, tear down, and rebuild $5M homes)  or Chamber of Commerce luncheons in Naperville, the best small city in the US to live (yeah, because if you live there you're probably fairly rich)

She holds tele-townhalls, and she NEVER corrects a bagger who has his/her facts all wrong.  It's frustrating as hell, and she is very selective as to who gets to ask questions.

She does, in her small groups, go on about what "they" or "the other side" might be doing.  She's sure she doesn't know (because "they" are so secretive) and she can't possibly imagine.

This idea of small groups is nothing new.  Repubs keep voting for these people who engineer a way to tell each small group what it wants to hear, but there is really no opportunity for anyone else to ask a question that the small group may not have thought of.  There is no opportunity for an opposing thought to interfere.

Thankfully, though, I think she's going to be redistricted right out of her seat.
