  •  Seriously, because who cares what the President... (0+ / 0-)

We can call our senators and congressman and make it very. very. clear that cutting medicare is unacceptable.

$ to DFA, none to DSCC/DCCC/DNC

      •  better is to work on getting the (0+ / 0-)

new democratic house and regaining some senators.

DFA doesn't win elections, the others do.

I'm asking you to believe. Not in my ability to bring about real change in Washington ... I'm asking you to believe in yours. Barack Obama

    •  If we wait for him and depend on him and throw (2+ / 0-)

fits of angst every time he disappoints us, exactly how does that serve the cause.

Sooner or later he too will be gone and the fight will still be going on.

I had hoped one of his great accomplishments might be to bring to citizen activation in the governing process what his campaign brought to individual activiation in the finance and conduct of his poltical campaign.

      He may yet.

But on that fundamental matter and on the issues we have being battled out before us, they are more important than he is, especially if all we can do is throw poo at each other over who's a denier and who's a cheerleader and who's a purist and who's a hippy-puncher.

The distraction into nothingness and the diversion into dispair does nothing for the cause.

Criticize him all you want.  I certainly have and do.

      Just don't obsess.

It really is not all about him.

And to the extent it is about him, a stronger popular movement will do more to move him towards the direction we'd like than our personal blog critique.

We'd rather dream the American Dream than fight to live it or to give it to our kids. What a shame. What an awful, awful shame.

      •  That's your response? You're done talking... (0+ / 0-)

about this, but instead of just leaving or saying you're done talking about it, you have to pretend that I'm somehow obsessed with the President and just need to stop talking about this (because you certainly won't, if I don't first).

I assume that you've been engaging in some serious citizen action with one hand while typing these comments with the other.
