    an insane waste of money.  The bride is so stressed out about everything being perfect that she's a wreck.  Groom is a wreck from listening to her worry for six months.  Parents are stressed because of all the above, plus the mountain of debt or the hit to their savings account.  

    Guests are bored-- admit it.  They're all sitting through an endless reception thinking of all the fun things they could be doing on a beautiful afternoon.

    Only good thing is how cute the groomsmen look in their tuxes- especially after they've had a few drinks and the ties are untied.

      good wedding is fun for the guests!

      Some of the most fun parties I've been to have been wedding receptions.

      (Not saying you should spend money you don't have, just saying good friends, family, ambiance and an open bar= a lotta fun.)

      Some people fight fire with fire. Professionals use water.

        is friends, family, ambience and really great music to dance to.  The last is seldom found at the weddings I've attended.
        Open bar doesn't help since I don't really drink much, but I will concede that it helps those who do.
