    because he looked and sounded like a doddering old man. Never seemed comfortable with the cameras, never seemed totally sure where he was, never sounded sure of what he was saying.

    He looked old to me, and I'm old.

    Obama, on the other hand, looked and sounded just like you'd want the first African-American president to be. Confident, young, energetic, somewhat hip, comfortable with technology, at ease on camera, gorgeous family, born in Hawaii, lived overseas, etc., etc.

    If McCain had been 15 yrs younger, it would have been a real contest.

    It really was a generational difference. In attitude more than anything.

    Even though Reagan was old when he won, he didn't look or sound old. That's the difference.

      country was fed up with the Republicans and the economy was tanking.

      I don't think there was much McCain could have done.
