Satellite TV and internet is the only choice. AT&T for the land line phone. No cell phone service.

We just had dial-up until recently when we decided to splurge for the satellite. We were pleasantly surprised to find that as part of the stimulus, there is a gov't program to subsidize rural internet access for those who are not able to get DSL or cable. That made the satellite $40 per month and therefore about the same as DSL.

Recently TN decided not to regulate ATT any more because the regulatory agency said ATT was not a monopoly. Strange definition of not a monopoly since it is the only choice in my county (and I assume many others.)

For a cell phone, we have a net10 prepaid phone to use when traveling. It is $15/month for (I think) 150 minutes which accumulate. Since we cannot use it at home, we now have well over 3000 minutes.
