  •  Yeah, quite likely. (3+ / 0-)

I was making minimum wage then, and it wasn't enough to live on, so I wouldn't be at all surprised.

    •  LOVE talking to clueless clownservatives (6+ / 0-)

who actually do think one can live off of eight bucks an hour.

years ago I had a conversation regarding this topic... after the person appeared to actually engage their brain for a moment, he said something to the effect, "well, these people can't expect to have luxury items".

HUH?! a TV is a "luxury"? taking one's family on a decent, basic vacation-- that's a "luxury"??

the lack of empathy is truly astonishing.

      •  Those ARE luxuries. (0+ / 0-)

My own luxuries are the internet and sodas. (I know I should quit with sodas, but they get the gunk out of my throat really nicely.

I regard eating high-protein as a medical necessity, since I have worse fog if I high-carb my diet. Not that I like this financially, but it's the way things are.

I stopped coloring and cutting my hair a long time ago. Women can have long hair, and that's cheaper.

It is what it is. It will be what I make it.
