    But you're just wrong on this.  The right to determine how and when to have a family is a fundamental human right recognized all over the world.  Now, those who argue that the number of children should ideally be tailored to account for one's present economic circumstances are not 100% wrong - but to argue that a person shouldn't have a kid at all unless they can "afford" it fundamentally refuses to recognize that for the majority of the world's population -- which is POOR -- they will never be able to "afford" it within the meaning of western sensibilities.

    It is a pernicious elitism that is practiced here in the US where we judge people who "can't afford" to have a child.  Everywhere else in the world, civilized nations ensure that people can indeed exercise this human right.  But here, folks are all worried about their "taxes" and "taking care of someone else" with "their money".
