  •  July will be a great time for Wisconsin, (12+ / 0-)

and for the United States also as Wisconsin is the leading edge against the outragious GOP overreach of 2011.

Hey Scottie Walker look out. You're next!

"vote of confidence" election in Wisconsin.

I wouldn't get too confident that they can't rally their stupid suburban/rural troops out to the polls again for these recall elections.

      •  take a peek at the map (5+ / 0-)

from the Kloppenburg-Prosser race before you start talking about rural areas.

The main part of the problem was in the Milwaukee suburbs.

Kloppenburg did very well in many rural areas.

The recall to watch will be Alberta Darling's, where she serves at the pleasure of Milwaukee's wealthy north shore suburbs. More money will be spent in this one race than all the others combined... most of it trying to defend Alberta Darling.

Will Sandy Pasch be able to get her message out? That the vote will be cast in July when most of Darling's constituency may well be out-of-town at their summer homes could be a determining factor. What will the rich white folks do if they have to stand in line at the polls in the sweltering heat of Milwaukee's July?

Bottom line, we've never had an election in July here in Wisconsin that I can remember. Last year in mid-July we had flooding rainfalls unlike ever before. Hope is Sandy Pasch's supporters will show up come hell or high water.

      •  Not so fast. (0+ / 0-)

        Prosser won, yes.

BUT. In February, Kloppenberg got just over 25%.

In April, she got just under 50%.

This is a staff attorney who started with NO name recognition.

While she didn't win the election, she DID win the "vote of confidence."

      •  More like an east/west thing than a suburb/rural (0+ / 0-)

thing going on here. West in general is democrat, far north is democrat, East and north along Lake Michigan are Republican. Far southeastern corner of Kenosha is democrat. Milwaukee and Green Bay suburbs are Republican and Milwaukee is democrat, but hasn't had too high of voter turn out.

    •  It ain't GOP overreach. (2+ / 0-)

It's the GOP baring its very soul at last -- and coming up empty.
