I thought Daschle lost an election?

    •  yes he did (0+ / 0-)

there were some very effective attack ads based on his wife's lobbying work, which some of the same Republicons now say should be irrelevant with respect to Clarence (may I live to see him impeached) Thomas.

Tom Daschle was a politician, not a justice on the SCOTUS.  Daschle lost an election, he was not impeached or removed by the Senate for his wife's activities. There is no basis for Justice Thomas to recuse himself on the ACA case. Read the comments in this thread by both Adam B, and coffeetalk, two lawyers who actually understand the rules.

and I have read the comments you refer to.

and i also know that Daschle was not on the SCt.

i still want someone to make a big deal out of it.  I want Thomas's wife's partisan lobbying to be common knowledge, even though it does not require him to recuse himself in the ACA case.
