It protects what the 5 KRATS say it protects, and they've already found significant stretches of the Constitution to be in error.

    •  The Constitution protects lots of things (5+ / 0-)

which would surprise those 5 gentlemen.

Just like the Bible says lots of things that Bryan Fischer would be shocked to learn.

The man never received a diploma from college. Why is anyone listening to him?

I think you're thinking of someone else. He left Baylor early when he was accepted to Duke Medical School.

He graduated from Duke with a degree in medicine in 1988 and completed his residency in 1993.

and in any case the most brilliant man I've ever know well personally is a man who left college without graduating (for non-academic reasons), so it's a bit foolish to me to dismiss someone solely for that reason without other evidence that the person is not well informed.

Sad, but the Serious People in the Congress, now that Obama's president, find all kinds of things that were egregious violations of morality, law and humanity under Bush/Cheney now quite acceptable. Rand is a mixed bag of stuff, but the Serious People in Congress are not conflicted at all, are they. We believed in the Serious Progressive during the campaign of 2008 and got Bush on steroids. Now, instead of faulting our own mistaken reasoning, we have to find a scapegoat. Let's go after one of the Pauls, as inconsequential as they are, while the wars, joblessness and the ever-expanding national security state continue apace. Rand Paul must be held to our ideal standard, as he should be. But, our motive should not be excusing our own stupidity and carelessness. It's so much easier attacking the scapegoat, even if it means excusing and empowering others who are actually implementing lawlessness and crime while we are distracted.
