  •  I think Ralph Bunche was one of the first (6+ / 0-)

    black people I ever became aware of (at about age six or seven).  And I knew that the Nobel Peace Prize was the highest honour in the world.  For me from that time forward I found ludicrous the idea there was anything a black person was incapable of doing simply because he or she was black.  

    This says more about the power of setting an example than it does about me or Dr. Bunche.  And, imo, that power of example is one of the reasons Pres. Obama frightens so many people.  

    Thanks for the reminder about Dr. Bunche.
