I respect that view and as a mother, I know whereof you speak.  Today, however, I felt compelled to provide an answer to that diary by pointing out the disinformation in the HuffPo article on which it is based.  It is one thing to disagree with policy, it is another, as I said, to use the departure of someone to return to academia, whose actions in renting his home in DC and keeping the administration appraised of his talks with the University of Chicago to return to academia to suggest that he is returning to academia because he has been beaten up by Summers and Geitner and no longer agrees with administration policy.  There was no support for that argument and I pointed that out.  I also pointed out the diarists history of bias against this administration.  A history of one side's bias is relevant to a discussion about the uses of propaganda.

I have answered my critics who have flocked to the diarist's defense.  Interestingly, most of the commenters have chosen to call BS and accuse me of wrongdoing without showing that my analysis was in error.  Moreover, I will not be silenced in the name of peace on this site.

in general and puts the departure of Goolsbee in the middle of that. That's more than fair, imo.

btw - wasn't it Goolsbee who during the primaries was accused of telling the Canadians that the Obama campaign wasn't all that serious about that anti-NAFTA talk? I seem to remember something like that - forget if it was Goolsbee or not.
