Here's to the fight against Republican attempts to turn America into a one-party state. Their schemes MUST be overturned by the courts quickly, and we must fight to register those under attack from these Republicans fighting to save their political skin and keep those opposed to them from voting. Whether the Republicans like it or not, their schemes are no different than those in place in places like North Korea and Khadafy's Libya (not to mention those that were in place in Hitler's Germany, Stalin's USSR, Franco's Spain, Pinochet's Chile, and Salazar's Portugal).

Conservative on economic issues, and slightly left of center on social issues.  That's where the people are, and that's how they vote, for the most part.

The two "parties" have just taken up residency on either end of the middle.  A few Republicans scream bloody murder on social issues, knowing (and perhaps secretly hoping) that abortion will never be illegal.  A few Democrats spout populist rhetoric on the campaign trail, knowing that we'll never again tax the rich (thank God for those Dems, since most of them ARE the rich).  It's a kabuki dance designed to distract the masses.

These types of voter laws are just designed to rig it so that they'll never have to, even on occassion, deal with the rabble, and then nobody will have to cheat.
