So, Rep. Weiner makes a joke about the bike lanes, concerning the fact that the transportation dept did a shitty job working with the neighborhoods and took a "we know what's best" approach.  Mayor Bloomberg and everyone else at the party took it as a joke and agreed that it had been done in a poor manner.  Fact is, the bike lanes were especially unpopular in Queens, which Weiner represents.

So I don't see how this is in any way shape or form a matter of him being stupid.

Weiner's been a solid, aggressive progressive Democrat and it is sad to lose him. Whether he resigns or not, we've lost a progressive voice.

The bike lanes are unpopular with the Post, Iris Weinshall, Markowitz, CBS/Marcia Kramer, Steven Cuozzo.

There is a big hullaballoo about the lane on PPW and it's always called "controversial". Funny how it went through very transparent public process and has 70%+ community support yet it is "controversial". Thought that sort of conclusion only came from FOX

and  I give more faith and credence to New Yorkers to support a good guy, which I belive Weiner is, than I do Weiner's peers in Congress who are calling for him to resign, or people here and elsewhere who continue to be cowed by le-sex-scandale-du-jour cooked up for a bath in righteous indignation entertainment by the mafia called the Media.

Worse things have happened, if we can remember the good "Christian men" who took over the White House in 2000 which should have taught us by now why using sex scandals as a political strategy (against Clinton) to get back at opponents has nothing to do with morality.

We have to stop the cowering. We continue getting pwned by this. Let's start growing up and accepting our leaders as human fucking beings. That's one less thing to blackmail and extort us out of our own (pardon me the use) --- cajones.
