    In that he's long been seen as an accomplice by others inclined to subordinate but let someone else do the dirty work for them.  It is not too long ago to remember that the advice from the police to those wanting to avoid rape was to stay home, unless accompanied by a "protector."
    Fact is, it's not necessary to have protection, if there's no threat of harm.  So, the protector and the perpetrator of insult share a common agenda.
    That said, humans being naturally mobile organisms, their perambulation about the globe is a natural right and efforts to restrict that natural behavior are a violation of human rights.  Laws concerning immigration may be legal, but they violate human rights.  That the U.S. has always been rather cavalier about human rights is evidenced by the fact that the permanent subordination of persons who had been purchased was enshrined in the Constitution.  Ownership trumped natural rights.
