  •  I have been riding to/from work for 20 years. (7+ / 0-)

It's 26 miles, round trip, and I try to do it five days a week, regardless of weather conditions.

It's a great way to stay in shape and pedal away work and life anxieties. Helps me think more clearly, as well.

I also ride longer distances on weekends. (Doing 100 miles tomorrow. Did 50 today.)

Last year, I rode 8,200 miles.

I rode 66 miles in the mountains today, to top a 190+ mile week, and I'm whipped!

Please read my comment to A Siegel, below, about worldcommute.com. Right down your alley, I should think! Keep up the great work and safe travels to you!

    •  Kudos ... (0+ / 0-)

And, well, beyond where I think I'll end up.

Right now, again, I can telecommute a lot ... and, well, there are occasional (very) late meetings (to 1 am or later) and need to be moving around ... But, as per diary, the bike will shave down Metro and car usage -- and, well, eventually I might get to all-weather biking but making no promises or expectations.

And, well, absolutely agreement with the second paragraph.
