I'm pretty sure it was my support of something or other political and not homophobic.  I truly am happy I don't remember.

Now, waiting for you to write another marvelous diary on your faith so crazy person can go apeshite.

Well, I had a prayer request sent to me privately over the Kos-male--uh, sorry, mail by a Kossack wondering if I could not add a suffering friend to my personal or dKos list. Which got me thinking: I think tomorrow I will write an Anglican Kossacks about prayer and healing and encourage folks, very much like they do on Brothers and Sisters, to add their own petitions.

That should invite quite a "discussion" if a certain person finds it, which I am fairly certain that person will do.

I know this sounds uncharitable, and it probably is, but I am rather looking forward to it. I hope you'll join us.

I'll bring the coffee; you bring the donuts.

I have a prayer list (extensive).  I use it for rememberance of those who are suffering personal or extended issues.  I don't believe in the "magic" of prayer, but I do know that support is healing even if in tiny ways.

          •  Well, that will be the take of my diary (0+ / 0-)

Lots of my fellow Churchmen, even some of those of us of the "high" variety don't take a Medieval, "magic" view of the efficacy of prayer. More of the idea as you said the healing nature of the support prayer and meditation or even "we're keeping you in our thoughts" can have on someone in need of support. As our Dean would say, "God doesn't work from the sky, he works through your works".

The other thing I am going to explore are services of healing and the anointing of the sick and why--again, not through "magic"--these things can have a positive effect on both those who are in need and those who are ministering to them.

            That should spur interesting discussion.
