  •  Well, you last sentence (14+ / 0-)

is where the real value is. They could go out of their way to full poutrage mode to throttle Boehner on his clearly unethical leadership.

    Two problems:
    1. Dems never seem to miss a chance to exploit an opening.

    2. They risk getting a little of the gay on them in doing so.

That marriage equality opposition is led primarily by Clergy is a confirmation present law is the establishment of religion.

    •  But it isn't really bout teh gay, it's about (6+ / 0-)

Boehner acting by fiat rather than the rules, and spending/wasting money he is not authorized to spend.

We all smelled a rat when this first broke, I hope CREW has all the paperwork nailed shut and in triplicate.

      •  I agree. (4+ / 0-)

But the GOP message machine won't: "Can you believe the Democrats are attacking poor Speaker Boehner just for defending the sanctity of marriage from the gays?! I am filled with pious poutrage!"

I can hear the bubble heads on Fox already.

See how the tit for tat works?

        •  Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't (0+ / 0-)

polls say most people could care less about gay marriage? It's not on my "stop them" list. A hellava lot of things that are wrong in this country have a higher priority to me than gay marriage. I'm one of those live and let live people.

Maybe the next "Boehner Bombshell" will be the exposure of his mistress. Gawd, I hope so!

in your usage, "could care less", implies that most people could indeed, care less than they already do, which kind of negates your point.

Who knew? Ignorance isn't bliss after all; it's only simple-minded certitude!

            •  Didn't mean it that way. (0+ / 0-)

I'm having a rough day physically and hence my mind is less than sharp.

People should be able to live their lives as they wish. There should be no morality police. There should be no laws that interfere with relationships between two people whatever their sex.

Sorry if I came across as uncaring, but I don't see gay anything as a problem in our society to be legislated against or to have laws against.
