and you're missing the point, just like Rachel Maddow. Shuler's subject was Obama's hypocrisy. The fact that Obama commented on the pathetic antics of Weiner but has had NOTHING to say about the arguably criminal behavior of the Bush administration is damning. Same goes for his silence -- more importantly, his justice department's silence -- on the documented perjury of Lloyd Blankfein and other banksters at Goldman Sachs.

...the deep pockets while running for re-election...and there are a few 'Independents' out there who think that torture is a-ok and would view investigations and prosecutions of BushCo War Criminals as political retribution rather than restoring Rule of Law -- and we don't want to be alienating those 'Independent' voters.  After all, the only people who give a shit about the crimes of the previous administration or prosecuting the Wall Street criminals have nowhere to go on election day.  And what we have determined is that we must cater to the unprincipled, craven center in order to secure enough votes to win.

So double standards, as those who agree with kicking Weiner to the curb without a word or concern about evenly applying a fairness standard across the board, PROUDLY hail the political efficacy of abandoning a principle.  Principles lose elections.
