    •  Actually it's less that they are controlled (0+ / 0-)

That they operate under a kind of hive intelligence.

These megacorporations aren't controlled by any one person or even a handful but they all operate as if they are in cahoots even though they really are in bitter competition with each other.

No what you are seeing is the results of an artificial intelligence that is alien to and unconcerned with the fate of human beings.

That most of it's decision making organs happens to be human is largely immaterial to the decisions that get made.

These intelligences have purpose and purpose only. To grow and accumulate assets.

Hell it's even moving away from paying shareholders. Look at how many non-dividend paying stocks are floating around.

And the worst is this isn't the result of some sort of grand conspiracy it's just individual actors each operating in their own short term interest and the results are even more concentrated and coordinated that would be the case of an actual conspiracy where miscommunications and power struggles would affect the outcomes.

Personally I think the root cause and enabling act that created the problem was the extreme concentration of wealth in the hands of a few who then promote the policies that created these life forms in the first place.

The solution is what I'm less clear on. Honestly I'm not sure if anything short of outright revolution will have any real effect. The people aren't ready for that, and the control mechanisms are so sophisticated and pervasive that I'm not sure they ever will be.
