  •  thank you so much for collecting these... (9+ / 0-)

    headlines.

The list makes the point, doesn't it?

Bashing titles attract participants, morph into TM headlines, and give a false picture of what NN was about, a distortion that lingers long afterwards.

In contrast, I haven't seen anything about Van Jones' talk - which was as inspiring as a talk could be, and a constructive way forward.

MoveOn sent a fundraiser today, in follow up, tho' Van's name was not mentioned.

    •  Lt. Choi's juvenile and nasty temper tantrum (8+ / 0-)

to gain attention for himself was the total display on Friday night cable to represent all those President Obama haters in Minnesota.  (with Hamsher and her smirk sitting nearby)  I've heard repeatedly that he's not even a Democrat.

That's not exactly a winning strategy to win over more wavering voters to your cause.  It certainly doesn't work in swing areas or states. (ask fellow Democrats in Florida with Grayson's nasty antics used against them in ads and flyers when he had nothing to lose)

      •  Cindy Sheehan, anyone? (4+ / 0-)

        Or Larry Johnson.

Sometimes our "heroes" turn out to be clocks that briefly stopped  in a place that sounds superficially like ours.  But it turns out that they have agendas that differ tremendously from the totality of liberal/progressive Democratic principles.

We're sucked in by the conjunction, feel betrayed when the disjunctions rear their ugly heads.
