WASHINGTON — The Democratic National Committee raised about twice as much money as its Republican rival during the first month of President Barack Obama's re-election campaign, an early indicator of the president's fundraising machine heading into the 2012 election.

Your comment is about the RNC fundraising efforts in 2008 and 2010. My comment is about the fact that the DNC outraised the GOP in April 2011, during the first month of President Obama's re-election campaign.

      It's worth asking.

Also, I tend to agree with other commenters that you're making a giant fallacy here.  You're equating voter donations with voter enthusiasm.  Obama has been running the White House with an eye on pleasing his wealthiest donors.  Most of us are not arguing that everyone is upset with him.  Wealthy Democrats who saw the Bush tax cuts extended are quite pleased.

      so far?

The RNC is just token money -- the real money, untraceable and unreported, goes to the organizations that Karl and Dick run.

That's like comparing who earns more, the mob or an assembly line worker.

To every millionaire who decries they don't want their grandchildren paying for the deficit, I say: PAY MORE TAXES NOW and your grandkids won't have a deficit burden.
