    of President Obama's speech. Did I hear him correctly that there will still be more troops in Afghanistan at the end of 2012 than what were there when GWB left office?!

      One of my big problems with this speech.

      That and the live within our means BS while defense spending continues and we don't call Rs bluff on the debt ceiling as Wall Street holds most of our debt and Rs are assuring them they don't mean it.

      We give credence to deficit fetishism nonsense while continuing endless wars. That endangers what's left of our social safety net as deficits are mostly dangerous politically.

      said troop level was 34,400 in 2008 and when Obama took office. He did the surge and then added more later to make 100,000. After this drawdown of troops announced tonight, there will be 66,000, double the number in 2008.
