Even if the inventors are immigrants which we don't know, but if they are, they still had to come to America to invent this battery technology at an American university.

OK, but if they hadn't they might have invented it elsewhere, which was kind of the point of my comment above.

Do you think only the US invents great stuff?

Two of the traditional strengths of the US has been it's relatively open immigration policy and good universities, whcih have tended to have a syergistic effect in attracting a lot of smart students from outside that eventially maintain or even compound the the power of the system.

And this case is a perfect example. One of the projet leaders, Yet-Ming Chiang, was originally a student who imigrated from Taiwan to attend MIT and eventually became a leading Professor there as well as a founder of American Superconductor M24 and A123 Systems, some great tech companies.

Of the inventors, one is Rumanian and the other Chinese.

Great minds and great ideas come from everywhere.

Great opportunitities do not, which I think may be hat you are trying to say, but the best way for the US to decline as a tech incubator would be to go all nationalistc and proud and neglect the goose that laid the golden egg.

Some of the anti-imigration crap spewed on the Left these days could have exactly that effect.

    What about my Daughter's future?
