    I don't know if it's evil exactly, more mindless...but they get drop-offs constantly.  it is rampant

      Only two were "on purpose" and by "on purpose" I mean one was from a shelter and another a friend found living under a restaurant.

      The other three were volunteers, animals who showed up at the house and after we couldn't find their owners, we kept them.

      I am one of the lucky ones, my household has enough disposable income that we are able to keep five animals in food and vet care. But I don't think this entitles me to look down on the original owners of my animals, I feel compassion for them, not scorn.

      Scorn is bad karma, if nothing else.
