    never watch them, never will and I would give my last shirt if I could prevent the military from training their soldiers using computer simulation software to "make the killing in warfare more realistic" in their training sessions. It's an approach that enhances emotional distantce to all human suffering the soldier's future war-fare activities will cause.

      a "war movie' theme.  More of an anti-war statement in the way that M.A.S.H. was an anti-Vietnam statement but set in the context of the Korean war.

      Unrestrained extreme violence is necessary. Because of the existence of invented space aliens.

      Inventing the space aliens that justify the extreme violence is pretty much the whole point.

      The existence of dragons, and vampires, can do it too.
