    I find that odd. If it's an open thread, why not call it that. Best to be clear to your readers and commenters. Open threads aren't really open threads unless they're called open threads, to me.

    Sounds like you may not have really wanted it to become an open thread and got overruled. ? A separate Open Thread by itself was fine with me. Don't know why these decisions are made around here.

      although there'll be a replacement feature soon that'll function similarly. it's just not up and running yet.

      But there are a lot of devoted APR readers and that's what this is called.

      It's APR that's also being used as an open thread.
      We've always kind of used it that way anyway.

        No, in my many visits to APR, it has not been an open thread.
