We have large picture windows in the living room that look out to our view (on clear days) of Mt. Rainier. If these things don't block our view, they'd be ideal to add. I'd probably put them on almost every upstairs window, certainly every one that gets sun (which doesn't include the window over our bed; that looks out into the forest).

I am hoping we someday have the funds to cover the roof of our barn with solar panels. The barn is never shaded by trees, and the house is (and I am not about to cut any down). It's a best-of-both-worlds situation to roof over the barn in solar panels and run the electrical service up to the house, leaving all the big trees by the house alone.

So I'm not sure about picture windows, at least until they come up with a version with transparent wiring, but you definitely want this technology on your upstairs windows and any skylights.

Global warming is the inconvenient truth, nuclear power is the inconvenient alternative.
