    William Still's "Underground Railroad". Such a thriller of a tale, just encased in those 24 words. With just a little imagination you can fill in the blanks (or read the chapter, lol) of all the stuff this man went through to get to freedom:

    CHARLES GILBERT, Fleeing from Davis, a Negro Trader–Secreted under a Hotel–Up a Tree–Under a Floor–In a Thicket–On a Steamer.


    He made it safely to freedom.
