for asking some important questions.  Wish I had some answers for you...
Progressive recruitment is an important issue, a very basic issue, if we ever want to be able to steer our national conversation out of the right-wing bog.

it's hard to get answers from anybody on what to me are obvious questions. Progressives lack power in Congress, commensurate with their numbers. Progressive positions lack support in Congress, commensurate with the number of Americans who hold those positions.

Yet, progressive issues get continually stymied, and those who support those issues don't efficiently organize to grow their political muscle, to force the issue.

Similarly, I've also found it very frustrating to even get an answer to the question I put to progressives I've met online, who had lots of time to post on a forum, but wouldn't join a progressive organization like PDA. I first noticed this on the Randi Rhodes forum. Lots of complaining, but very little organizing.

It made me question whether or not the serial complainers were actually interested in solving the problems, or were actually more interested in venting, because it made them feel better.
