    my sister grew up Catholic. When they got married they compromised on a nondenominational Christian community that works for them. We don't talk about it much & learned what to avoid with his parents long ago. Fortunately, aside from voting Republican and not being completely allergic to Fox, they're relatively non-wingnutty and not at all evangelical. He runs his own small business and still buys that the R's are the party of business, but I haven't entirely given up trying to show him where his interests really lie.

    And, most importantly, he's a very good person who lives more of the gospel than some liberals I know, but very much under a bushel basket. Not giving up all his possessions, but I'll get on him about that when I do so myself! It's a complicated world.

      I have not a problem with regular folks who think that Republicans might be on their side.  They just do not understand.

      Everyone is misinformed on lots of topics, now and then.  Ignorance is not a terminal thing, and is treatable with facts.

      When facts do not take comes the problems.
