  •  That's technology, though (2+ / 0-)

    EthrDemon, radical simplicity

A force we really have no idea how to deal with, at all levels.  It's killed jobs by the millions, while making "Twitter Tender" the possible new employment wave.  How much should a company's twit tender get paid and waht kind of bennies come with that job?

All joking aside, Regular Joe stands little chance of "making it" in the stock market and Reagan's folks convincing him that he could in the 1980's is another in along line of marketing brilliance from those evil bastards.

    •  So re-regulate it (0+ / 0-)

Its not as though we don't know how technology works.

Its not as though we haven't been successfully regulating the industry for decades.  As technology changes, so should regulations.

Its just plan common sense, a no-brainer.  I'm shocked that anyone would be dumb or dishonest enough to propose leaving a broken system in place.

      •  I have advocated (and voted for people (0+ / 0-)

that advocate)  putting a leash back on Wall Street.  Seems too many of my fellow citizens still believe in the "magic" of the market.

      •  The regulation is so very simple (1+ / 0-)

        •  How will that help anything? (0+ / 0-)

It certainly won't stop companies from automating away as many manual jobs as they possibly can. Of course, that activity produces jobs too, but mainly a few jobs of the high paid computers variety and not a lot of medium skill turn a wrench variety.
