  •  Citizens United has enabled We Are Wisconsin (7+ / 0-)

which is funded by unions & small donations and focused on grassroots, people on the streets.

On the red side, most of the money goes to big ad buys.

Direct donations are still preferred by candidates.  They pay for office supplies, lawn signs, volunteers, etc.  A campaign that can't raise direct donations not only runs into a fiscal crunch, but the big donors start doubting whether they should donate.

Dan Kapanke is a case in point.  He has raised about 3/4 of a million, spent $611K, and is still 14 points down.  He's not getting any more love from American Oligarchy.

RECOUNT. Recall - We did it!! VOTE against the frauds, then VOTE TO TAKE WISCONSIN BACK!!! Rescind. Rebuild. Now with more voting, thanks to republican dirty tricks.

    •  If Kapanke ends up being deemed one of the ones (0+ / 0-)

the oligarchy has to save as others look shakier, I wouldn't rule out a sudden avalanche of cash and TV/radio ad buys in an attempt to rescue enough to prevent (D) take-over of Senate.

    •  candidate campaigns want the money (0+ / 0-)

so they can control messaging. They don't like that outside groups are becoming so powerful.
