  •  I agree with you point, but wonder... (0+ / 0-) what measure is this recover better than the Bush recovery?  Does "quite mediocre" mean some recovers were better and some were worse?  Which ones were worse?

I'll grant you the circumstances are entirely different, but you fell right into the trap you were complaining about.

By any measure other than the stock market, this recovery has been horrible.

    •  Compared to the Bush recovery... (0+ / 0-)

...job creating actually has been better in this one so far.  You may recall that the Bush recovery created virtually no jobs until a good two years in, whereas this one has at least created a couple million jobs.

The problem, of course, is that the hole this time is deeper, which means that we need far, far better job creation to get out of that deep hole.

But the answer is that in comparison to the Bush recovery, this one is stronger for job creation.  Compared to every other post-WWII recovery, it is weak.

See the links below.  In every other recovery, the deeper we fall, the steeper we climb back.  We also had 4-5% unemployment during the 00s.  Despite record amounts of stimulous, this "recovery" is nothing more than a talking point.
