I really think it would be better to spin the state and local activity on to a sister website. As an out of stater I can fairly easily tell how a US Congressperson votes and I have a descent idea on which seats are swing seats. But ask me the same question about a state rep in Ohio, Penn, AZ, FL, MI etc and even me a political junky has no idea. The state site needs to provide much more info, links to local blogs, etc.

This is just a suggestion. I think it would help out a lot. I only know about the WI seats because it's high profile nationally now, 6 months ago I would have had no idea.

    •  More than a state-level ActBlue, I think... (0+ / 0-)

... what would really address those issues would be a state-level Progressive Punch.   It's understandable that we don't have one, since evaluating Congressional voting records is difficult enough, and doing this at the state level multiplies the difficulty by 50-plus, with the added challenge of weaker documentation...   But it would be an enormously useful resource at the state level, where it can be difficult for voters to get the necessary information to even begin holding their reps accountable.

I have some tech skills, and I'd be very interested in contributing to a project of that nature....
