    eloquently and in depth made the point I've been making for the last 2 months -

    We need people to focus on down ticket races.  Many people don't know who their Congressional Representative is,  probably 90% don't know who their legislative Senator and Assemblyman is.

    As for "throwing money at a tarnished Democratic leadership" many state republicans have been incumbents for decades.  Few Democrats run against them because the odds seem so remote.  Democrats can't tarnish a reputation they haven't been able to earn.

    Even people who are angry or disappointed at Obama and don't want to work for him should work to get their local senator and assemblyman replaced with a Democrat.

    With a Democratic majority in state houses less anti-union, anti-abortion, dimantling the social safety net legislation will be passed.

    Another good reason to get more Democrats into state legislatures is such posts are stepping stones to more important political posts, like governor, or senator, or even former Illinios state senator President Obama.
