  •  I do, actually. I don't like pettiness. (1+ / 0-)

The non-stop bitching about the cost of Chelsea Clinton's wedding (millions! Billions! Gazillions of dollars!) bugged me. The damn Edwards haircut was a non-issue for me, as an Edwards donor, and I said so loudly.  The president gets mocked for playing golf all the time (a rich white man's game, I think is the message they're sending).

We get accused of "Class Warfare" all the time. This, not raising taxes on the rich, is what feels like warfare to me. It's the pettiness.

I,  for one, don't care how wealthy people spend their money. If Ryan broke the law, he should be sanctioned.  Otherwise, it may be obscene to some to spend hundreds of dollars on a bottle of wine or millions on a piece of art. But the problem isn't how they spend their money: it's the fact that they're not adequately taxed and the system doesn't adequately provide a safety net for the non- rich.

This stuff is a distraction from the real issues.

If we really want to complain about these bottles of wine, I'm pissed that he's drinking French wine on US soil. That should be illegal for members of Congress.

We have extraordinary wines produced right here that rival and surpass what he drank. American wine = American jobs.

Let's make a fuss about THAT and I bet a lot more Americans will be upset.
