about how families take care of their children, elderly, and the sick first. Besides the basic necessities, most families also invest for their and their children's future. Another great thing to point out to those Congresspeople who think they should act like families. (And in those ways, I agree; unfortunately, they seem not to agree with that part.)

advantage of the 'post more than one diary in a day' thing.

My diary on Derek Jeter hitting 3000th ball garnered twice the action of my 'call to action' diary.  And folks turn around and complain about how I just complain about the admin, then never try to 'do anything'.

Yet none of those folks who think the site should be about 'doing things' show up to volunteer to work on the project...

What a great frame for this. And we have to work for our money while paying into that government a good chunk of our income that I personally would much rather go toward upkeep on the homestead (infrastructure - including energy independence with renewables), support for a safe and wholesome food supply, care for children, the elderly and the sick, plus a future for everyone's children (education) than toward resource wars.

The critters in DC aren't a family, and they don't think of us as their kin. They're well-paid servants of the capitalist class and "tax farmers" of the most Medieval variety. If we had a Robin Hood, we could all be Merry Men (and Women)!
