    I did read your whole comment, which I took as "We can do all these wonderful things, so why can't we solve hunger?".

    I don't know that we can solve hunger.  The human race has shown time and again its ability to outbreed the food supply.  We can use our knowledge and technology to increase food production, but to what point?  Until there's 50 billion people on earth and the factory farms have wiped out every other species?  And then there will still be famine, just on a much wider scale.

    Personally I don't think hunger invalidates all of our other accomplishments.  You can't say a physicist's work here means nothing because population growth is too high.  The two aren't related.
