    the first time I ever went to give testimony in person -- autism insurance, in 2007.  All the in-person testimony I heard while I was there was in favor, but a bunch of the lobbyist-types (WMC, etc) had submitted written testimony against.  In that case, they couldn't be bothered to appear and speak their piece in the presence of the families, I'm guessing... but it was a valuable bit of info to pick up.

    Since you can copy to your own legislators, it makes it a double whammy!
