  •  Or, they are following orders. (5+ / 0-)

Did you notice how all the big global credit rating systems are now making angry noises at us?

They're going to start downgrading us. And the orders from the IMF and their ilk will be, "Cut, cut, cut." We'll get the Ireland/Greece treatment. We'll cut and cut ourselves into recession and unemployment, which will require more cuts. And we'll be looted in the process.

I'm starting to wonder if Big Money has made it's decree. "Time to pillage the U.S.A. into third-world status, profit madly, and put our money elsewhere."

“Despite months of negotiations, the two sides remain at odds on fundamental fiscal policy issues,” S&P said in the statement.

Chambers added in the interview that even if the parties agree to raise the debt ceiling, it may not be enough to avert a downgrade. Chambers said the country must implement a plan to reduce the annual budget deficit by roughly $4 trillion over 10 years, which makes the debt manageable over the long term.

      Sorry Grandma. We tried.
