      It's projecting short-term effects on demand and consumption in 2012 and 2013.  If the discretionary spending cuts are deferred for at least 1-2 years, such effects wouldn't show up that quickly.

      Preaching to the choir and then shooting them when they don't sing loud enough isn't a good strategy for increasing the size of the congregation.

        agencies projecting budget cuts 1 or even 2 years down the line will be slashing jobs as they approach those cuts?

        Wouldn't that be a short-term negative impact on the economy, given most agencies in government have already been cutting jobs by the boat load?

        In any case, it's all working towards to republican goal of shrinking government till it can be drowned in a bath tub.
