  •  Kaiser is great - best medical (0+ / 0-)

care I've had as an adult.

When my husband and I left California after eight years of work there  - where we were on Kaiser (sometimes in Sacramento, sometimes in Fresno, sometimes in San jose) - we continued to use Kaiser on our Cobra coverage, even tho we had to drive 3-4 hours to the closest Kaiser facilities in Atlanta.  The coverage from specialty to specialty was coordinated, even to our medical histories from California.  We should all have access to such a system.

What we have now is not a system, it's a catastrophe.  I will finally get Medicare coverage when I turn 65 in a few months - and I am dreading the choice of Medicare supplement insurance.  I've been getting bombarded with information.  i've been putting it in a file and and afraid to open it. I don't know how anybody makes a choice.

    •  Doesn't Kaiser offer a plan? (0+ / 0-)

Although I'm more than a decade away from using Medicare, I checked out their other plans before I got insured through work. I could have sworn they had some kind of Medicare Plus plan on offer that didn't strike me as wallet-busting compared with the rest of the market.
