    But to be clear, my point was yes we should pass something in most cases, but we should press harder for a good deal, even if it means not passing something in the short term.  And if it is truly a bad deal, take a pass and tell the public why it was bad.

    This whole situation is a bad example though because of the debt ceiling.  That has to pass, so the question is one of who is willing to blink first.

      you haven't given a 'justification' of a bad deal, you've given an explanation. And as it happens, the GOP is good at picking must-pass items to make a stink about things they care about.
