Many of you bash Obama for not "leading" on issues. Here, you have him standing up for a bill which hasn't even been through Congressional committees and hasn't garnered near enough support amongst co-signors and you bash him because he's pandering to the base.

    Just sad and pathetic.

Please answer honestly - Why do you even bother with DailyKOS?

Which was to repeal DADT and DOMA. Nobody at dailykos is against this and the White house support for the DOMA repeal legislation is most welcome here at Dailykos and I didn't see who bashed Obama for it.

But I don't see why this support is such an admirable, praiseworthy action beyond that.

Where I come from, keeping your promise is a duty, not something that you expect extra appreciation for.

Let me spoon feed it for you:

It permits Obama to pander to a base that he has pretty much alienated over the past year - while actually doing absolutely nothing to work for meaningful change at the state level (where he professes to believe this issue resides).

Sorry - color me indifferent and unimpressed.

Now - when he actually does something positive

My entire family is from Montreal. I know Montreal. And, even in Montreal, that is bashing.

        Try again.

but practically everyone here (and on the other diary on this issue), including myself, is applauding the President and his Administration for this endorsement. One person expresses some lack of appreciation and you give birth to a water buffalo. Nice way to bring your pathetic flame wars into a diary that is praising the President.

      •  Nah, you're not missing a damn thing (0+ / 0-)

You color a bashfest as "lack of appreciation". That says enough for me about your complete lack of objectivity. I wonder why?

one commenter=a bashfest?! Objectively, the vast majority of comments here rightfully praise the President's endorsement. How is that a problem for you? How does that observation bespeak a lack of objectivity? I see a whopping 2 recs for that comment. Sincerely, the President's recent moves on DOMA repeal have been a source of hope and encouragement to those who have suffered much injustice in this country. Somehow that seems like a bashfest to you? Well, if so, that's something about which I wonder why.

Largely, I suspect, because they lack any real substance to talk about.

          •  It has a whopping 3 recs now! (3+ / 0-)

And one of them is mine. Stop the madness!!

I understand GayIthacan's skepticism and thought the case for it was well-made. I didn't see it as an Obama "bashfest" as fcvaguy claims. It's just someone's opinion on a blog, nothing more nothing less.

So sue me if I don't hyperventilate over it.

I rec'd the comment knowing full well that some folks like fcvaguy would read into it and think they can discern my opinion of Obama based on a comment recommendation. I see that nonsense a lot on DKos and it makes me laugh. It's just a rec on a blog, nothing more nothing less.

Fuck you if you read more into it.
