As negotiations around the debt ceiling continue, House conservatives are continuing to argue that the Obama administration is overstating the threat posed by crashing into the debt ceiling – and are suggesting that any default will be because President Obama chooses to allow that to happen.

On ABC’s “Top Line” today, Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, told us that the president can continue to pay bills that come due even after August 2, the date that the Treasury Department has said will force the government to being defaulting on its obligations without further borrowing being authorized.

into giving them whatever they ask for, because WE will be the adults and avoid default no matter what the cost otherwise.  It'll be Obama's fault for not meeting all of their demands.  They've destroyed the very idea of democracy.  They're LYING to all of us..they know perfectly well what the consequences would be, and are betting on the Dems being responsible enough to keep it from giving in.
There are only two choices here.  Either they KNOW this, and they're blackmailing criminals.  Or they DON'T know this, and are therefore way too stupid to be trusted with any decision, let alone one of this magnitude.
So which is it, Repubs?  Malice, or Incompetence?  Either way, you should be fired immediately.
