  •  Anything, as long as it's a "big deal". (6+ / 0-)

That's what this White House wants: something they can term a "big deal".  They think they'll win Independent voters in '12 if they can claim to have forged a "big dea".  If only they do "big things" then they'll win re-election.  Doesn't really matter how bad the contents are.

of "independent" (i.e. low information) voters will propel Obama's candidacy to victory while the 2+ million activists (who did GOTV & made countless small donations) find themselves thoroughly demoralized & feeling betrayed?

Goddamn it, the Democratic party is supposed to PROTECT Social Security, Medicaid and Medicare!

The Goldstone Report: Still accurate, relevant, and damning.

    •  I used to think that (4+ / 0-)

but on this, I simply think that Mr. Obama has flat-out lost his mind.  There is nothing good about this "Good Cop" deal, unless you're a corporate thief.

And actually, if you think about his words the other day, he   seems to understand that this "debate" and "drama" could tank his Presidency--maybe he simply can't stand the heat and wants to get out of the kitchen while he thinks he still can.

Seriously. Not that I'm not still calling his office and the offices of my senators and congressmen. But this is it. IT. This IS PATRIOT ACT all over again and it must be stopped in its tracks before this President is able to sign it into law.

I frankly don't care if he's doing it under duress or he's been a serial liar for years--or he's recently, as I said up-top, lost his mind (fwiw, my money's been on the first option since day one, and I'm hardly now, nor have I ever been, a Yearbook Staffer on his behalf ;)). It doesn't matter anymore what is "behind his motivation". This shit has to end, this is thievery of the highest order and we must stop it.

REPEAL the Telecomm Act & REVIEW this decision. NO journalist should be fired because their boss can't have the truth told.
